Alumni Player Profile:
Brian Urick, Class of 1995

What year(s) did you play high school hockey at Minnetonka?
1993-95

What Minnetonka High School hockey moment is most memorable for you?
Playing in the 1994 State Tourney.

Did you play college or junior hockey after MHS?
Played 4 years at the University of Notre Dame.

Where do you currently reside?
Chanhassen, MN.

What do you do for a living?
Work for Thermo King, Inc. A transport refrigeration company. In my spare time, I am also an assistant coach for the high school.

How has playing hockey as a lifelong sport helped you to become a better person?
Hockey has taught me the values of teamwork and work ethic.

Who do you think is the Greatest Hockey player to come out of Minnetonka High School?
My two idols growing up were Tim Hanus and Justin McHugh. I was pretty young when Tim played high school hockey but I remember going to the games and being so excited to watch warmups to see him take slapshots. My memory of Justin McHugh was his third period goal against Burnsville in the 1990 State Tourney.

I think you also have to give consideration to Jack Paul, who is currently playing for the Skippers. I have had the joy of coaching him the past three seasons and I don't know if there has ever been a Minnetonka player with as much raw scoring ability that he has. He is going to break the school record for most career points this year.
